- Appellation
- Bergerac AOP, Dordogne, France
- Alcohol
- 11.5%
- Cellaring
- 5–8 years (under optimal conditions)
Born of the small but characterful parcels of Bergerac, Le Petit Bernajou represents the estate's closer, more intimate face. It is produced from 100% Merlot.
The nose is initially somewhat closed, becoming expressive after a short aeration: game (venison), Sichuan pepper and lightly toasted notes emerge.
The attack on the palate is soft, while the tannins remain young and structured, promising excellent development in bottle. The finish is long, balanced and refined.
It pairs beautifully with grilled steaks, roast lamb, game and mature cheeses.
